Nigeria: EFCC Detains Firm Heads Over Contracts

 The owner of Oneplus Holdings, Azibaola Roberts and Dakoru Atukpa, the Executive Director (Projects) of Katakar Civil Engineering Company, are being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over their links to contracts awarded by former National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

The EFCC arrested them over two weeks ago, Daily Trust gathered yesterday.
Oneplus Holding is among the 300 companies recommended for investigation by the presidential panel probing the contracts.
It was gathered that the EFCC had on March 23 arrested Robert, said to be a cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, over alleged diversion of funds through Oneplus Holding's sister company, Katakar Construction and Engineering Company.
According to sources, Roberts is being held to provide proof that he executed contracts and collected about N796 million ($4 million) for securing oil pipelines.

Musa Gowon: Son of former ruler Yakubu Gowon to return to Nigeria after 22 years in US prison

The son of former Nigerian military head of state Yakubu Gowon is due to return to Nigeria after spending 22 years in a US prison after being convicted on drug-related charges. It is believed Musa Gowon was released from the Taft Correctional Facility Bakersfield, California, after US President Barack Obama granted him pardon earlier in November.
