Musa Gowon: Son of former ruler Yakubu Gowon to return to Nigeria after 22 years in US prison

The son of former Nigerian military head of state Yakubu Gowon is due to return to Nigeria after spending 22 years in a US prison after being convicted on drug-related charges. It is believed Musa Gowon was released from the Taft Correctional Facility Bakersfield, California, after US President Barack Obama granted him pardon earlier in November.

Belgium: Brussels grand mosque evacuated over 'suspicious powder' in envelope

A Belgian soldier stands guard on the Grand Place Yves Herman/Reuters Brussels' grand mosque has been evacuated after a suspicious envelope was found. A spokesperson for the firemen deployed at the site, which is near the European Union headquarters, said the envelope contained a suspicious white powder, local media reported. The city's decontamination unit was also seen entering the mosque and 11 people were checked out for possible "contamination".
