Powerful earthquake jolts Pakistan, tremors felt up to New Delhi

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.8 has jolted Pakistan as the tremors were felt up to the Indian capital, New Delhi. The quake was felt in several Pakistani provinces including Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, apart from parts of neighbouring Afghanistan.

No damage or casualties have been reported as yet. Panic-stricken people in several cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Islamabad were seen running out of their homes.
Transport services in New Delhi have been paused due to the quake which has been monitored by multiple agencies including the USGS and the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre

The son of former Nigerian military head of state Yakubu Gowon is due to return to Nigeria after spending 22 years in a US prison after being convicted on drug-related charges. It is believed Musa Gowon was released from the Taft Correctional Facility Bakersfield, California, after US President Barack Obama granted him pardon earlier in November.
