Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update rolls out globally

A few weeks after Samsung announced the global rollout of the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S5, the company is now seeding the same to all Galaxy Note 4 users. Users from Poland, India and Turkey have so far confirmed the OTA rollout to the device.

The latest update is the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, which was first seeded to users in South Korea like most of Samsung's devices and then to some carrier specific users in the US like Sprint. Some reports suggest that the current rollout is only hitting devices comprising of the Exynos chipset, which is mainly in international units based in Europe, India, Singapore and Australia. This means the other models will also start getting the update any time soon now.
The update comes in at just under 1.3GB with build no MMB29KN910CXXU2DPCB. Several reports also mention that the screen-off memo feature from the Galaxy Note 5 has been brought over to the Galaxy Note 4 with this update. Other than this, the devices also seem to be receiving Android's April security patch.
The Korean giant is slated to launch another version of the Note phablet this year in the form of Galaxy Note 6, which according to recent reports will be released much before the iPhone 7, one of its main competitors. The Galaxy Note 6 is expected to have a mammoth 6GB RAM along with a Snapdragon 820 chip set, a 5.8-inch Quad HD display screen with a 12-megapixel rear camera and options of 64GB/128GB of internal storage.
