Vampire Diaries season 7 episode 16 online: Major death teased by Ian Somerhalder

The Vampire Diaries season 7 is all set to return on CW after a month-long hiatus and lots of fireworks can be expected from episode 16 titled Days of The Future Past. Brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore are eager to sacrifice their life for each other while vampire huntress Rayna is in a hurry to finish her task by killing one of the Salvatore with the scar.

Ian Somerhalder, who is also directing the episode, has hinted at a big explosion and an upcoming death. "This one was really about telling the story of this whole group of individuals and how they're all intersecting. And we lost some very wonderful, very beautiful characters in this episode," he told TV Guide.
A sneak peek released by CW shows the vampire huntress in full control of Damon, who starts to gain his consciousness and sees the huntress sitting right before him. "You stayed to give me company?" he asks Rayna.
"Nice try. Once I am done patching myself up I am out of here," she tells the elder Salvatore brother, before explaining why she is not interested in killing him as of now. "As much as I'd like to kill you first, my sword is on the move and so is my target. I have to chase them both. My mystical nature calls."
In the previous episode, Damon asked Paul Wesley's character Stefan to magically transfer his scar to him, which would help him escape Rayna's sword. Damon, who is still reeling from the year-long slumber of Elena, decided to sacrifice his life for his little brother but Stefan had other plans and he ran away from the offer.
However, Somerhalder's character promised the vampire huntress to bring back his brother to transfer the spell. The promo video of the upcoming episode shows Damon explaining to Rayna: "He's just being a martyr. Probably thinks I can't handle the scar."
"That is downright noble, more than I expected from you, especially considering everything you have to give up," the vampire huntress replies while patching her wounds.
The official synopsis of episode 16 reads: In an attempt to make things right with his brother, Damon offers to have Stefan's scar magically transferred to him, only to discover that doing so may come with some unexpected consequences. With time running out and Rayna (guest star Leslie-Anne Huff) closing in on Stefan, Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) desperately attempts to reason with Damon before it's too late. Elsewhere, after being framed for breaking Rayna out of The Armory, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) attempts to clear his name, but not before a violent run-in with Nora (guest star Scarlett Byrne) forces him to make an upsetting discovery.
The Vampire Diaries season 7 airs every Friday at 9 pm EST on the CW network. In case you miss the episode during its airing time, click here to watch it live online on the network's official website the very next day. The link is only for viewers in the US.
